This blog is unique in that the comments-tail will wag the blogging-dog. Huh? What I mean is that the purpose of this blog is to collect your welcome-back messages for Fr. Joseph Fessio, who has returned to Ave Maria University after a brief and unexplained dismissal.
Please keep your welcome-back messages upbeat and charitable. Any others will be deleted. To leave a comment, simply click on the link below that includes the word "comments". And be sure to pass this blog link along to any others who would want to send along their welcome messages as well. Thanks.

We are simply delighted to have you back, Father!
Father, I join the Holy Father, Fr. Benedict Groeschel, Archbishops, Bishops and Catholics everywhere in praying and expressing my support for you!
It was one very scary day without you. Welcome back. You are needed at AMU.
I agree, Father, AMU needs you. Hang in there, we're praying for you.
Hey Father!! We're all so happy to have you back. I can't imagine what school would be like without you. You do and have done so much for us and this university. God bless you!
Dear Father Fessio,
Once the toothpaste is out of the tube, it's hard to get it back in.
It has been a violent time but we're all here for you. We truly love you.
I'm so happy you're going to continue with us on this journey, Father! Be assured, you are very much wanted here.
I came here to Ave Maria becuase of everything I heard from you, Fr. Fessio about the great orthodoxy of Ave Maria and how it was to be the pinnacle of resurrecting the church in this country and institute the "springtime of evangelization" called for by Pope John Paul the Great.
Wednesday afternoon, I felt as though that was all lost. Then at 4:30 after we were all so disrespected by this administration, I felt as though I had been paralyzed. I support all those who wish to prayerfully and respectfully ask this administration for a public apology to the whole campus community, if not more.
We're glad to have you back Father and hope you won't be changing your on-campus status again any time soon, although I hear there's an opening for Dean of the Pre-Theologate...
I think you have shown real "class" throughout this ordeal.
Bravissimo!

Dear Fr. Fessio,
it is so nice to have you back on campus! We missed you so much, even though it was only a day. Thank you so much for all that you have done and continue to do for us students and for Ave Maria.
When you were gone, we really realized how much you do for us, and how important you are to our community! It is wonderful to have you back!
Know that you and the University are in my prayers,
yours in Christ,
Lina
It's a strange position for the school now, Father, as we both know. But we all have faith in God and trust in you. Keep up the fight--whenever and however you can.
Welcome Back! You may not be provost, but I'll bet you're still as busy! Do you need some help handling all your fan mail now? Hey, students, faculty and staff--volunteer your assistance, lest Fr. Fessio die the slow and horrible death of a thousand paper cuts! Become a...
FESSISTANT!
Father, welcome back.
I am very excited that I have the opportunity to further get to know you!
I will continue praying for you, the mission of AMU, and administration for all decisions they make. God works in mysterious ways. In the end, I hope this will better the university and the lives of its students.
I admire the love and forgiveness you have shown and look forward to seeing you on campus.
Father Fessio: We are so happy to have you back at AMU! We want you to know we support you 100%! We are praying for you and Ave Maria, that it would be a university that truly honors Our Lady in every way. God bless you! Dave, Seana, Clare, and John Paul Tamisiea.
Welcome back, Fr.! The university is very fortunte that you have agreed to stay with us. I support those who are respectfully and prayerfully asking the administration for a public apology.
Eph. 6:12 and John 16:33. Verbum Sap.
Welcome back Father, it wouldn't have been the same without you, we love you!! Praying for you and Ave!
Father,
I'm very glad you're back on campus again. As Ant0nyjay said, once the toothpaste is out of the tube, its hard to get it back in. I'm praying and believing that this administration will survive, however, with the faculty and students united as they were at last Wednesday's Muster for the common good of the university. I will continue to pray for you.
Ad multos annos. You are the face of Ave Maria and its heart as well.
God Be Praised! And God Bless You, Father Fessio, for being WILLING to return to Ave Maria University.
You truly understand that WE need you and love you!
We look up to you so very much; you complete our family, at AMU. You are truly an instrument of Our Lord's peace; a peace that is not the peace that the world gives (John 14:27 "...My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you....")
You are a willing and obedient instrument of His love and light and you most certainly are "irreplacable!" God knows this; we know this too!
Many of those here and "up north" are now waiting, and praying, to see how things go; for you personally and for others at AMU who share your vision of the Holy Mother Church, the Sacred Liturgy, and the gift of our beloved Catholic Faith.
We understand and so greatly appreciate the spirituality and theology that you have fostered and imparted to our university and community. You have taught us that love, if it is genuine, is always submissive and obedient to God's Laws. We know that your example and teachings glorify God and bring us closer to Jesus Christ His Son and to Our Blessed Mother.
We understand too, that there is a difference between man's (free and imperfect) will and an act of God; that although God will one day call you home, that we must treasure the time that He has permitted you to be with us!
We thank God for you! And we thank you for saying "Yes" to Him who sent you to be here as our teacher, our good friend, and our beloved priest, dear Father. You remain forever in our hearts and prayers.
Fr. Fessio, I'm so glad that you're back. I hope that this incident will further Ave Maria as an institution, you as a man of God, and us students as mature adults. Thank you for all that you have given to this university. You are loved very much.

Fr Fessio, I think that you have born witness to the fact that the most important thing to keep one's eyes on is following God's will. What others say or do, whether positive or negative, in the end meas nothing to what you actually do to pursue what is true and good. Thank you for upholding the University and calling us all on to renew our efforts to seek after God's will and what is truly important in life.
Fr. Fessio,
Welcome back! You have been a tremendous support to the development of our sacred music program, and we need you around!
